1. Purpose and Scope
NACRE HAIR AND BEAUTY LTD acknowledges its duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults who visit our salon. This policy is designed to provide guidance to all staff members on how to respond to any safeguarding concerns.
2. Our Commitment
We are committed to ensuring our salon is a safe environment. We believe that:
The welfare of a child or vulnerable adult is paramount.
All children and vulnerable adults, regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion, belief, or sexual orientation, have a right to equal protection from all types of harm or abuse.
3. Staff Responsibilities
All staff members have a responsibility to be vigilant and to report any concerns about the welfare of a child or vulnerable adult.
If a staff member has a concern, observes something unusual, or if a disclosure is made to them, they must:
Listen carefully and stay calm. Do not promise confidentiality.
Do not investigate. It is not our role to decide whether abuse has occurred.
Record the details. Make a factual record of what was said or seen as soon as possible.
Report immediately. Report the concern to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

4. Reporting Procedures
The DSL will assess the information and, if appropriate, make a referral to the local authority children's or adult social care services, or the police.
This policy is in place to protect all vulnerable persons who interact with our salon.
